Brooke Quick is proud to join Skaymaker and Nelson, P.A., as an Associate Attorney, offering to our firm both courtroom experience and a deep connection to the local community. As a lifelong resident of Crystal River, Brooke remains dedicated to serving the local community. 

 

Brooke earned her Juris Doctor from Mississippi College School of Law in Jackson, Mississippi, and was admitted to The Florida Bar in October of 2022. While in law school, she worked in the Veterans Legal Clinic, assisting local veterans with a range of criminal and civil legal matters.

Prior to joining the firm, Brooke served as an Assistant Public Defender in both Marion and Citrus Counties. In this role, she represented clients across a broad spectrum of cases, ranging from municipal ordinance violations and misdemeanors, to serious felony and capital offenses. Her experience includes numerous jury and bench trials, as well as violations of probation involving charges such as DUI, drug trafficking, drug possession, theft, criminal traffic offenses, battery, burglary, and more. She has also extensively litigated pretrial matters, including but not limited to motions to suppress, dismiss, modifications of pre-trial release conditions, and pre-trial detention. Brooke also has extensive experience with pre-trial diversion programs, such as PTI, as well as alternative courts, such as Drug Court, Veterans Court, and Mental Health Court. 

In addition to representation of clients, Brooke has experience volunteering with Community Legal Services, offering advice and participating in expungement clinics -- with the goal of helping individuals clear their records and move forward with new opportunities.

 

As a native of Crystal River, Brooke is proud to continue living and working in the community she calls home, alongside her husband and two children. Her connection to the area drives her dedication to advocating for and supporting those in need.
